In collaboration with Viking

After the first contact with Viking headquarters in 2014, a common goal was created to make a happening that would promote Viking lawnmowers in an untraditional, fun and innovative way. To further develop this goal, we started the process of researching the current market to find different approaches that would contribute to reaching our primary objective. We found that Honda held the world record for the fastest lawnmower at the time with an average speed of 116mph. This inspired the idea in how we could both promote and brand Viking AS for their high-quality products.

The next step in the process was to find out how to build, develop and finally carry out the record attempt. We assembled a team to be on top of every aspect of the project, including designing and constructing the mower, promotion, management, and execution. After several designs, adjustments and angles of promotion the mower were ready for its attempt. In 2015 at Torp airport in Norway, the world record was taken at an average speed of 134 mph making it the new worlds fastest lawnmower ever created. As planned, we were accompanied by a large crowd of press, spectators, and media channels all ready to witness the lawnmower in action.

After the record was taken, the next step was to tour around Norway at different events to further promote the lawnmower and Viking as a brand. After participating in several activities and a dozen of fire-ups, the lawnmower with Viking brand on it was to be seen in magazines, news, social media, and other influential media platforms. The project was a great success for all parties involved and has been a great contributor in the branding of Viking and its high-quality mowers.
